Biomass to suit your needs

The Biomass sector is experiencing rapid expansion, and this growth is accompanied by transformations. We collaborate with both existing and new clients to identify the most suitable products for their sites and boilers, and we adapt these choices if their requirements evolve. Benefitting from an extensive network of waste wood suppliers across the north island, we have the capacity to procure the precise wood fuel necessary for each project.

What is Hogfuel?

Hogfuel is a type of wood-based fuel that is derived from the byproducts of forestry and wood processing operations. It consists of various wood materials such as bark, wood chips, sawdust, and other wood residues that are left over after trees are harvested for timber or other purposes. These materials are often considered waste or leftovers from the primary wood processing activities.

The term "hogfuel" originates from the practice of using a machine called a "hog" or "hogger" to shred or grind these wood materials into small, uniform pieces. These pieces are then used as fuel in various applications, particularly in industrial settings such as power generation, heating systems, and pulp and paper mills. Hogfuel can also be used as a feedstock in some types of biomass boilers and renewable energy facilities.

Hogging In Numbers

Central Wood Recyclers boasts an array of machinery that caters to a wide spectrum of applications.

Ripper:
The cornerstone of CWR's operations, our fleet comprises four Rippers. These machines spearheaded our journey and remain integral to our processes. They excel at handling substantial stumps and large wood pieces that other equipment might struggle with. Given their rarity on a global scale, we've continuously enhanced and refined our Rippers. To ensure uninterrupted operations for our clients, we maintain a well-stocked parts inventory in our storage facility.

Morbark:
For processing waste boards, veneer, and more, Morbark's horizontal grinders emerge as the ideal choice. Our current lineup features a 2 x Morbark 3400s and a Morbark 3200. Over the course of eight years, CWR has integrated Morbark machines into our operations, fine-tuning them to enhance their efficiency and alignment with our specific work requirements.
